NVC to hold virtual graduation ceremony

As a response to the government’s community quarantine restriction across the country and the indefinite postponement of graduation and other end-of-school year activities due to the Covid-19, the Northwestern Visayan Colleges is joining the on-line commencement exercises as it is holding its virtual “graduation-in-a-box” on June 25 and 26.

Bannering the theme, “Hope Rising: Courage in the Age of Pandemic,” the graduation ceremonies will be held in two separate days, announced NVC president Allan Angelo Quimpo.

Graduates of college and graduate studies will be conferred on-line on June 25 and will be streaming live at 11:00am. For its part, graduating elementary and high school students will hold its commencement exercises on June 26 which will also be streaming live at 11:00am. Both will be streamed via Facebook Live hosted by the Northwestern Visayan Colleges Facebook page.

Dr. Juan Enriquez Dayang, Jr., a 2014 Outstanding Young Aklanon Awardee and who is recipient of various national and international leadership citations and grants, will be the commencement speaker of the graduates’ milestone educational achievement.

Dayang was recently promoted to a Career Minister in the Department of Foreign Affairs and is now in charge of the DFA’s Office of Intelligence and Security.

With his colorful achievement in the Foreign Affairs, the Sangguninang Panlalawigan of Aklan commended Dr. Dayang with a Resolution of Commendation.

Dayang obtained his Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Oklahoma, USA, and his doctorate degree at the Australian National University under full scholarship grant. While taking his doctorate degree, he was also a visiting scholar of the Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University, USA.
