Panukalang “ladderized” nursing program, suportado ni PBBM

Suportado ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang ipinapanukalang “ladderized” nursing program upang maibsan umano ang brain drain at mapalakas ang setor pangkalusugan ng bansa.

“I like the ladderized idea for the nurses because that’s really becoming a problem – the brain drain that we are suffering,” ani Marcos sa ginanap na pagpupulong sa Malacañang na dinaluhan ng mga miyembro ng Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC).

“They are so good everybody wants them, and they are willing to pay for it, and we are not, or we’re not able. So we have to come up with some strategies for that,” dagdag pa niya.

Ayon kay Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, ipinapatupad na ang ladderized program sa University of the Philippines (UP)-Manila at mga piling local government units.

Dagdag pa rito, nag-u-offer din ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, ng anim na buwang nursing aide course kung saan maaari nang i-deploy sa mga ospital ang mga nagsipagtapos sa loob lamang ng ilang buwan.

“What the hospitals do is they train them further, another 30 days to do IG, to do phlebotomy, or ‘yung nasal – NGT. And it improves the ratio of beds that nurses [are] able to do in hospitals. Quick win like that is easy to do if you can encourage more nursing aides,” giit ng pinuno ng PSAC Healthcare na si Paolo Maximo Borromeo.
