ANGKAS SA MOTOR, ‘UNDER CONSIDERATION’ PARA SA ‘PRIVATE USE’ – DO

Ipinahayag ni DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Libiran na “under consideration” na ang pagbalik ng backriding sa private motorcycle use.

Ikinukunsidera na ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) ang angkas sa motor pero hindi para sa motorcycle taxi services gaya ng “Angkas” at Joyride sa Manila.

Idedetermina ng DOTr, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Health, Metro Manila Development Authority at Department of Trade and Industry ang ligtas at pinaka-epektibong paraan para mabawasan ang panganib ng transmission sa angkas sa motor.

Samantala, hinimok ni Sen. Bong Go ang IATF na pag-aralang mabuti ang guidelines ng proposal sa pagbalik ng motorcycle back-riders para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero.

“It would be a great help to our countrymen if back-riding in motorcycles is allowed as public transportation remains limited. However, let’s not rush it. We have to make sure that this is done the safe way,” saad ng senador.
