DISNEYLAND, MAGSISILBING KAUNA-UNAHANG MASS VACCINATION SITE NG COVID 19 SA ESTADOS UNIDOS

Tutulong ang tinaguriang ‘happiest place on earth” sa pakikipaglaban sa COVID sa pamamagitan ng pagbubukas ng kanilang pinto upang maging kauna-unahang mass point-of-dispensing (POD) ng COVID 19 vaccine sa Estados Unidos.

Ayon sa mga opisyal ng Orange County, California, ang Disneyland Resort na nagsara ng kanilang mga park simula nang pumutok ang pandemya ay kayang mag-host ng POD site na mag-a-administer ng libo-libong bakuna kada araw.

“The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first Super POD site — undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process,” sabi ni Orange County First District Supervisor Andrew Do sa isang pahayag.

Pinasalamatan din niya ang pagtulong ng iba’t ibang pang mga sector upang mapadali ang pagpapakalat ng bakuna.

“We truly appreciate the support of the Orange County Fire Authority, our cities and our residents as we continue to rollout COVID-19 vaccinations throughout the county,” ani Do.

Samantala, sa isang pahayag ng Chief Medical Officer for Disney Parks Experiences and Products na si Dr. Pamela Hymel, sinabi niya na lubos na nagpapasalamat ang nasabing resort sa Orange County at sa Siyudad ng Anaheim sa kanilang pagsusumikap na labanan ang COVID 19.

“Disneyland Resort is proud to help support Orange County and the City of Anaheim with the use of our parking lot, and we are grateful for all of their efforts to combat COVID-19,” ani Hymel.

Dagdag pa niya, “after a year in which so many in our community have faced unprecedented hardship and uncertainty, there is now reason for optimism with the administration of a vaccine.”

Ang katabi ng Disneyland site na Dodger Stadium ay gagawin ding mass vaccination site,  ayon sa isang pahayag ni Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Base sa datos ng Orange County Health Care Agency, simula nang kumalat ang pandemya ay nakapagtala na ng 191,861 kaso ng COVID-19 ang Orange County at 2,120 diyan ay nagresulta sa pagkamatay ng mga biktima.

Nito lamang Huwebes, nakapagtala ang mga opisyales ng Los Angeles County ng isang coronavirus-related death sa bawat walong minuto.

“A person now dies every 8 minutes from #COVID19 in LA County,” pahayag ng Los Angeles County sa kanilang Twitter account.  Kasabay nito ay ang kanilang panawagan sa mga mamamayan na sumunod sa mga health protocols.  “Stay home to save lives, always wear a mask when out for essentials and avoid gathering with people you don’t live with.”
