Maaari umanong bumalik ang NBA sa Philippine television sa lalong madaling panahon ayon kay NBA Philippines managing director Carlo Singson.
“The NBA may be returning “soon” to Philippine television.”
“The league is in discussion with multiple groups to bring back the world’s premier basketball association to the local cable and free broadcast,” pahayag ng managing director.
“We think television is an integral part of our distribution strategy and we are in discussion, as you guys may have heard from different sources, with both local groups and international groups,” saad ni Singson sa media round table nitong Biyernes sa NBA’s Manila headquarters sa Bonifacio Global City.
“Facebook and Twitter are two of those international groups, but we are in discussion with multiple groups.”
Tumigil ang NBA sa pag-broadcast ng mga laro nito sa Philippine television nang mas maaga sa 2019-2020 season matapos ang halos dalawang dekada na matagal na kasunduan sa Solar Entertainment.
“Solar Entertainment, which was licensed by NBA to sell NBA programming to Cignal and Sky, had ceased its operations of the two channels that regularly aired NBA games due to the “expiry of the agreement with the NBA.”
Samantala, may libreng livestream naman sa Pilipinas via Facebook at Twitter ang NBA sa mga selected games nito.
“As a stopgap solution, the league has started airing its games through the NBA Philippines Facebook and Twitter accounts with one game each getting live-streamed per day during Tip-off Week.“
“I think the discussions, unfortunately, are quite complex and will take a lot of time, ideally it would’ve been done by the start of the season but like I said discussions and talks take time.”
“We’ll have an announcement soon, but right now I really can’t talk about specific discussions taking place,” ani Singson.
