5 Philippine boxers asam ang ticket sa 2020 Japan Olympics

Sisimulan na ng limang Pinoy boxers ang nais nilang tiket sa 2020 Olympic Games sa Tok-yo, Japan sa pagsabak nila sa isang prestihiyosong 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships na gaganapin sa Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Isa sa mapalad na naka-abante sa second round ng men’s flyweight class (52 kgs.) si Carlo Paalam kung saan nabigyan ito ng bye sa opening round.

Aarangkada rin sina Southeast Asian Games champions Eumir Felix Marcial at John Marvin gayundin sina Ian Clark Bautista at James Palicte sa kani-kanyang kategorya.

Ang Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur (AIBA) ay isang internasyonal tournament para sa mga amateur na mga boksingero sa kung sino ang tatanghaling kampeon sa kumpetisyon.

Target ng five-man national boxing team na mahigitan ang isang tansong medalyang nakamit nito noong 2015 sa torneong qualifying event ng 2020 Olympics.
