111 kaso ng COVID-19 reinfection, kinumpirma ng SoKor

Kinumpirma ng South Korea ang 111 kaso ng coronavirus reinfection kung saan pinakamarami ang naitala sa Daegu at North Gyeongsang Province na kapwa epicenter ng domestic outbreak.

Iniimbestigahan na ng Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) ang posibleng sanhi ng reinfection ayon kay KCDC director Jung Eun-kyeong.


“For now it is uncertain what led to reinfection ― revived virus that survived treatment or fresh exposure to the virus after recovery,” ani Jung.

Ayon kay Jung, ibabahagi ng KCDC sa WHO at mga bansang nakikipaglaban sa coronavirus ang magiging resulta ng kanilang malawakang research.

Unang sinabi ng mga health authorities na ang virus ay maaaring na ‘reactivate’ sa halip na ang mga pasyente ay na ‘reinfect’ makaraang muling magpositibo ilang araw lang matapos ang quarantine.
