KIMCHI, MAAARING MAKAPAGPAHINA NG MGA SIMTOMAS NG COVID-19

Isang pag-aaral ang nagsasabing maaaring mapagaan ng tradisyunal na pagkain ng Korea ang mga simtomas ng COVID-19.

Isinagawa ito ng World Institute of Kimchi at ng honorary professor ng Pulmonary Medicine sa Montpellier University, France na si Jean Bousquet.

Ayon sa nasabing pag-aaral, ang pagkain ng kimchi ay nagpapahina ng coronavirus na nakapasok na sa katawan dahil bioactive compounds na taglay nito. Dahil ang kimchi ay fermented na pagkain, lumilikha ito ng metabolite na nagtataglay ng kakayahang pababain oxidative stress maging ang inflammatory responses na dala ng virus.

Ang kimchi ay kadalasang gawa sa Napa cabbage, bawang, luya, at sili. Sinasabing ang mga sangkap na ito, at ang probiotics gaya ng lactic acid bacteria dahil sa fermentation ay nagpapalakas ng taglay nitong antioxidant na siyang nagpapahina ng mga simtomas ng COVID-19.

Ayon sa World Institute of Kimchi epekto ng kimchi laban sa COVID-19 ay patuloy ring pinag-aaralan ng iba pang mga lokal na institusyon, kabilang ang Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology at Jeonbuk National University.
