Another unscheduled power interruption is being experienced affecting both the entire island of Panay and Negros.
As of this writing, officials cannot reveal yet the tripping of NGCP’s 138 KV transmission since both facilities encountered system disturbances.
Meanwhile, AKELCO is reportedly trying to start up the GBP-PPC (Global Business Power/PanayPower Corp.) diesel-fired power plant in New Washington to provide power to some key establishments and government facilities such as hospitals in the capital town of Kalibo.
The embedded power plant however could only provide up to 4MW of power.
AKELCO said it is in constant coordination with the concerned entities.
“We apologize for the inconvenience it is causing our consumenrs but this is beyond our control. We will keep our lines open for updates,” it said in a statement.
